Welcome to Rest and Restore Massage
Whether you are looking to escape the stresses of life, recovering from an injury, or have other specific bodywork needs, I look forward to tailoring the massage experience you seek and deserve.
I am a graduate of Pacific College of Health and Science where I earned a certificate in Massage Therapy and Asian Bodywork. I utilize Swedish, deep-tissue, trigger point and myofascial techniques along with Tui Na (Chinese medicinal massage) and stretching to individually tailor each massage to best serve the client. I also offer cupping and hot stone supplements for those looking for something ‘extra’.
The benefits of massage are many: aiding in relaxation and stress reduction, alleviating tight and sore muscles, promoting improved sleep and increased blood flow. Massage also works on an energetic level to free stored emotions and other blockages we may not be aware we’re holding. All of these factors give the body an ideal environment to heal itself, which it is designed to do.
Though born and raised in the Chicago area, I spent over 20 years in NYC where I studied music at NYU and then worked as a pianist, conductor and music director for such Broadway shows as Avenue Q, Mamma Mia, Next To Normal, The Band’s Visit and Hamilton. I have always been a firm believer in the healing power of touch, utilizing massage as routine maintenance to sustain my music career.
A work-related injury introduced me to Alexander Technique which in turn brought about a fascination with anatomy, unknowingly planting a seed for a future massage education. One of my core beliefs is that we are given one body for our time on this planet, let’s understand how it works and set it up for success for a long and healthy existence!
Traditional Swedish techniques boost circulation, ease muscle tension and leave you refreshed and invigorated.
Incorporating stretches and elements of sports massage, Deep Tissue treatments are perfect for those who want someone to "dig in" and break up those pesky knots.
Add hot stones to your session to further promote circulation while your tension and stress melt away.
Adding cups to your session provides another option in relieving muscular pain and tension. Cupping stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic systems while drawing congested fluids and toxins to the surface layers of the skin.
Be advised, this can leave temporary marks on the skin.
